Gold companies shares mixed at the close of trading
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of some top gold companies were mixed at the close of trading:
Barrick Gold Corp. rose $.15 or .4 percent, to $37.77.
Gold Fields rose $.42 or 3.3 percent, to $13.22.
GoldCorp. fell $.23 or .6 percent, to $35.36.
Newmont Mining Corp. fell $.34 or .7 percent, to $46.20.
Silver companies shares mixed at the close of trading
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of some top silver companies were mixed at the close of trading:
Hecla Mining Co. rose $.14 or 3.5 percent, to $4.16.
Pan American Silver Corp. rose $.17 or 1.0 percent, to $17.01.
Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.28 or 2.2 percent, to $12.26.
Silver Wheaton fell $.44 or 1.6 percent, to $26.50.
Coal companies shares down at the close of trading
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of some top coal companies were down at the close of trading:
Arch Coal fell $.04 or .5 percent, to $8.30.
Consol Energy Inc. fell $.55 or 1.6 percent, to $34.58.
Peabody Energy fell $.33 or 1.1 percent, to $28.96.
